Mouth Artist Swapnika physically challenged artist
A 25-year-old physically challenged artist, makes a special effort to help the individuals who are less lucky than her.
Kovvada Swapna, who is from Srikakulam in AP, is well-known on social media as Swapnika for both her vibrant videos and her artwork. After completing her education, Swapnika has taken care of a girl who has been abandoned.
Swapnika, a skilled artist, uses the pencil with her mouth to make representations after both her hands must be precisely cut off following a mishap in which she contacted a live electric wire in 2007 in Hyderabad.
“She refused to listen to the suggestions that some people made to my mother that she should give up on me. Swapnika recalled her mother Saraswati. “She had to wait for three days to get some financial assistance to get a surgery to severe the affected portion of my hands,” she said. “There was no money.
Swapnika went around villages in Srikakulam to distribute clothing, food, and other necessities to those who were in need during the Covid-19 lockdown over the past two years. She collaborated closely with a few NGOs and individuals, including distributing cricketer Hanuma Vihari’s donated materials. Additionally, actor Sonu Sood has assisted.
With some monetary help that she got, she set up a bangle shop close to her town, which has not been doing great as a result of the pandemic.
She started drawing with a pencil in her teeth when she was in the ninth grade. Over the past three years, the mouth artist has created more than 100 portraits, some of which feature movie stars.
“I sell the portraits for a small sum, but some people, seeing as how I’m physically able to do so, are generous and offer me more money. According to Swapnika, who spoke with WOW Awards, “It is this money that makes me think of those who are less fortunate than I am and help them out.”
She is currently in Hyderabad to improve her artistic abilities. A social worker obtained blankets and distributed them through her because of her enthusiasm and desire to assist other people. The government of Andhra Pradesh provides Swapnika and her mother with a pension each month. She wishes to find an administration line of work to support her loved ones.
I’ve never been discouraged. I have always been a fighter. This is additionally the motivation behind why I choose to help, particularly the disabled, in their seasons of pain,” Swapnika said.
